Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s Hobby Lobby Dissent Is Even Better When Set to Music
Posted on Jul 1, 2014
“Now the court, I fear,” Jonathan Mann sings, “has ventured into a minefield of slut-shaming geezers and religious extremism.” Mann, who according to Mother Jones writes one song per day, decided that a portion of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s 35-page dissent in the appalling Supreme Court ruling on Hobby Lobby v. Sebelius should be immortalized in song.
And the result is a tune you won’t be able to get out of your head all day.
Here’s the whole dissent in writing for those of you who want more than a couple of minutes of scathing rebuke.
